New Zealand
Twelve hundred miles east of Australia, New Zealand has one of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes I’ve ever encountered. From the penguins at Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers to the hot springs at Wai-O-Tapu to the towering trees in Whakarewarewa Redwood Forest to the rocky beauty of 90 Mile Beach, the natural beauty that surrounded me in New Zealand was rich, abundant and visually mesmerizing.
This small island nation in the Pacific surprised me at every turn. The stunning national parks. The incredible hiking trails. The proud and dynamic Maori culture. Believe it or not, only 5% of New Zealand’s population is human – the rest are animals. For a photographer like me, it was like being in paradise.
