ICELAND

I’ve always wanted to go to Iceland. I’d been told the Country’s landscapes were both richly beautiful and raw. One day I looked into a flight and it’s only 5 hours from NYC. I realized I can get to Iceland a lot faster than I can get to California. So I went!

I flew into Reykjavik and left immediately in search of light and remote beauty. I rented a pretty substantial 4 wheel drive so that I could have the ability to get to some of the more remote places. I went completely around the island. I was in Iceland for 15 days, not long enough. It never is long enough.

My weapon of choice for this photo expedition was the new SONY camera, the a99. The a99 is smaller and lighter than the a900. It has translucent mirror technology – I did a video with SONY about this technology here. I can’t wait to share some of the scenes I found. I’ll be posting images in the coming weeks. Until then, I leave you with the Northern Lights.
