This door is in an area called Luderitz in Namibia. Luderitz prospered in the early 1900s due to the discovery of diamonds in the area. After the diamond rush, the town was largely abandoned and the sand and wind came in. This is one of the abandoned houses in the diamond mining town.

This image is part of a project that I’m doing for an organization called, Children in the Wilderness, an environmental and life skills educational program that focuses on the next generation of rural decision makers.
